On June 7, participants in the project Pearl Necklace of Holy Russia, the campus of the Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University Antonovo.
During the acquaintance with the university, students and curators visited the Museum of Archeology and the Center for Archaeological Research, the Cathedral in honor of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos of the Anthony Monastery, the University Church of the Meeting of the Lord and the spiritual and educational center, and walked around the University Botanical Garden, learned the history of the Antoniev Monastery, talked about similarities and differences of Novgorod and Smolensk architecture.
Then, in the university assembly hall, a project presentation was held. The meeting was attended by: Vice-Rector for Social Development and Educational Work of NovSU, D.E. Krapchunov, Director of the Humanitarian Institute of NovSU, E.V. Toropova, Associate Professor, Department of Russian History and Archival Studies, I.V. Samoilov, teachers and students of five areas of university training, as well as students of the Humanitarian and Economic College.
Students from the Smolensk Humanitarian University Konstantin Novikov and Ilya Losev told about the project implementation.
Yana Kamyanskaya (Smolensk State Institute of Arts) and Elizaveta Kuznetsova (Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary) told about the participation in the project of Smolensk universities.
The project manager, the head of the Smolensk Diocese Department for Relations with Society and the Media, Archpriest Valery Ryabokon, thanked the university management and students for the warm welcome and handed E.V. Toropova and vice-rector for educational work of the University D.Ye. Krapchunov memorable gifts.
